Positron Emission Tomography/Computed Tomography (PET/CT)
PET/CT is a powerful new way to detect and diagnose conditions such as cancer, heart disease and Alzheimer’s disease.
The system consists of two scanners: a PET (Positron Emission Tomography), which shows the metabolism and biological functions of cells; and a CT (Computed Tomography), which shows the anatomy. It combines the two scanner images into a highly defined 3D image.
